Salsa introduced the adult version of the Timberjack hardtail in 2016. Now, the Adventure by Bike brand is rolling out 20 and 24in version for kids.

Both versions come with 3in wide tires, which should instill confidence in young riders as they venture offroad.

In keeping with current trends, these bikes sport 1×8 drivetrains with narrow/wide chainrings.

The Timberjack 20 and 24 are built around frames constructed from 6061 aluminum to keep weight low.

A heavily curved top tube provides plenty of standover clearance. This also means there’s no space in the mainframe of the Timberjack 20 for a water bottle. Thankfully, Salsa solved this by adding braze-ons on the fork legs for the company’s Anything Cages. This will allow kids to carry water bottles as well as a bit of cargo.
