Showers Pass rainproof cycling gear coming to the UK

High-tech American apparel company crosses the Atlantic

Showers Pass – based in rainy Oregon, USA – make quality rainwear and outdoor gear for commuters, racers and cycling enthusiasts, and are opening a full UK operation on 16 May.

The line includes jackets, trousers for all-weather cycling and a new collection of Crosspoint gloves. The move means UK customers will be able to buy kit such as the Touring Jacket and Softshell trainer in shops. The company are negotiating with retailers to begin stocking products this autumn. Until now, UK buyers have had to shop online.

The company’s UK headquarters with be in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, where the company’s CEO, Kyle Ranson moved to the States from. His brother, Fraser, will become managing director of Showers Pass UK.

“We’ve been building a strong, loyal and fast growing following of online customers in Europe for a number of years now,” Kyle said. “But it’s time to really put the rubber to the road in the UK and bring our brand and full range of performance jackets, pants, gloves and other accessories to cyclists and active outdoor enthusiasts who don't like to let the weather stop them.”
