Registration has opened for the Polaris Summer Challenge, a two-day mountain bike orienteering event which takes place on 12-13 June in the UK's Peak District.

The Polaris Challenge was the world's first two-day mountain biking orienteering event when it was launched in 1991, and regularly attracts a global field.

Teams of two or solo competitors ride between checkpoints spread over a large area, collecting points as they go. Distance and 'difficult to access' checkpoints carry higher values and there are tough penalties for exceeding time limits.

If you’re up for the challenge, which takes place in the White Peak area, head to www.polarischallenge.com for more information and to enter.
