Pippo Pozzato has a new bike for tomorrow, and it looks flash.

PIC © CANNONDALE Defending Milan-San Remo champion Filippo Pozzato (Liquigas) will have a special bike to ride in Saturday's race. Team sponsor Cannondale has built him a SystemSix finished in Mercury silver. "For Milan-San Remo I wanted something special on my bike to inspire me," said Pozzato. "The colour is Mercury silver. In ancient Rome, Mercury was the messenger to the gods. And, as a substance, Mercury is very hard to catch!" Pippo's machine will be painted by Lara Cassanelli and Danilo Straffi of Artech Design, a custom paint studio located near Bologna that has done work for Ferrari and Lamborghini. The mercury coloured paint used on the bike was developed for Ferrari, and costs €1000 per litre. Got a comment? Discuss this in the Procycling forum. What else is new? Check out the Procycling blog.
