Specialized confirm long-term partnership with McLaren

Venge project was no one-off

The big hitters from both manufacturers gather at McLaren HQ in Woking to cement the long-term deal

Specialized’s partnership with motor company McLaren was first made public back in March with the unveiling of the S-Works Venge. Far from being a one-off collaboration, we caught a glimpse of a still-in-development Tarmac SL4 that had been given the McLaren touch at this year’s Tour de France.

Now Specialized have confirmed they’ve entered into a long-term relationship with the Formula 1 giants, that will “focus exclusively on breakthrough products and technologies that provide true performance benefits to cyclists.”

What that specifically means is unclear, with both Specialized and McLaren playing their cards close to their chests, but it will involve equipment as well as frames.
