SRAM Mountain kit for the road – first look

Huge back sprocket for the toughest hill climbs

SRAM’s new “Mountain kit” is designed for road riders to be able to reach the summit of the steepest mountain and hill climbs.

Bringing together the PG1070 11-32 tooth cassette (£74.99), an S Series derailleur, which has a long enough cage to cope with big cassette sprockets (£82.99) and the 265g PC1091 Power chain (£59.99), the full kit comes in at £217.97.

The cassette sports a 32 toothed big sprocket and is the same size as the one used by Giro d’Italia winner Alberto Contador during his pre-race reconnaissance of one of the toughest ever routes. The kits will be available through Fisher Outdoor Leisure, though a release date has yet to be confirmed.
