When Superstar Components were founded a few years back the idea was simple – cutting out the middle man and selling direct to the consumer at low prices. Many great products were introduced at prices that were previously unheard of, with affordable disc brake pads and a great selection of flat pedals as standouts.

Superstar have now announced that they'll be producing a UK-made range of components, starting with a selection of chainrings. British bashrings, pedals, headsets and bottom brackets are all in the pipeline.

The move has been made possible by a change in economic conditions and investment in new machinery. Superstar discovered that, despite healthy sales figures, a sharp rise in costs assosciated with Taiwanese manufacture have made the UK a viable manufacturing location.
