During Eurobike last month we spoke with Frank from Tacx about the company's new and more affordable trainer, the Tacx Flux as well as its new Cycling app and the Tacx Cloud.

Compared to the Neo Smart introduced last year, the main difference is that the Flux has an integrated fly wheel. It still has a max resistance up to 1,500 watts, inclination up to 10 percent and an accuracy rate of +/-3 percent.

The speed and cadence protocol is exactly the same as the more expensive Neo and the on screen display is unchanged with continued access to apps such as Tacx, Zwift and TrainerRoad.

Tacx also has a new training app called the Tacx Cycling App, which has built in training programmes such as cadence training and workouts. The app is compatible with the Flux as well as most other trainers.

Tacx has also created the Tacx Cloud which has been designed to bring together all of your training in one place to allow you to customise your training more easily.

You can set workouts based on time and distance and can control variables such as incline, heart rate, power and FTP. The software is compatible with iOS and Android and of course can be used with a laptop too.
