The second annual Team Midland 24hour Trackathon for Children In Need takes place at the CalShot velodrome near Southampton November 20-21.

Eight teams compete in one-hour relays, with a 'Pudsey bear' stuffed toy passed from team to team every hour.

According to event coordinator and participant Graham Hewson, 560 miles is the target this year. The 2008 event raised £7,500.

"I am riding in two teams, my own club Bournemouth Arrow," Hewson told BikeRadar, "and also a team comprising of two pro riders, Russell Hampton and Daniel Patten who ride on Magnus Backstedt's team and Simon Richardson the Paralympics gold medal winner."
