Team Sky today unveiled its squad for the 2012 season, with 28 riders from 12 nations - including eight new signings - hoping to build on a strong showing in 2011.

Mark Cavendish brings his rainbow jersey with him and will lead the team along with Tour de France contender Bradley Wiggins. Cavendish brings with him three former HTC-Highroad teammates in Bernhard Eisel, Danny Pate and Kanstantsin Siutsou.

“With Mark Cavendish joining riders like Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and Edvald Boasson Hagen, we have a hugely talented squad of riders with proven ability at the very highest level of our sport. We made great strides in 2011, in what was our second season as a WorldTour team. The challenge for all of us is to build on those achievements and become an even stronger and more successful team,” said team boss Dave Brailsford.

The team has strengthened in other areas too, signing a handful of talented neo-pros with Salvatore Puccio, Luke Rowe and Sergio Henao. Head over to Cyclingnews.com for the full line-up and a huge gallery of the team.
