Remember the days when adults rode 26in wheels? For many mountain bikers, those days are in the rearview mirror and 26in wheels are reserved for dirt jumpers and children’s mountain bikes.

Just in time for the holiday season, Trailcraft Cycles is introducing a lightweight 26-in alloy hardtail to cater to young riders who’ve outgrown 24in wheels but aren’t quite ready to comfortably fit on mountain bikes with 27.5in wheels.

"While the industry jumped head first and all-in on the 27.5in wheelsize, young kids and their parents were searching for extra-small and small 26in frames and bikes that actually fit their kids,” said Ginger Rosenbauer, Trailcraft Cycles founder.

The Timber 26 is constructed from 7005 aluminum and complete bike weights start at 21.5lb / 9.75kg.

Pricing for the Timber 26 starts at £1,570 / $1,949 / AU$2,635 with a Shimano Deore build and an ultralight Stan’s Notubes Podium Wheelset.

The Timber frame retails for £490 / $599 / AU$810.
