CycleActive are best known for their training – like the sessions they'll be running at BikeRadar Live 2010 – but they also run mountain bike holidays, and they've just launched a new weekend break that takes in some of the longest climbs and descents in England.

The Three Summits trip will take in some of the best big-mountain riding that the Lake District has to offer, with plenty of long ridgelines, steep, rocky singletrack and flowing descents.

From their base at a five-star guesthouse in Penrith, riders will take on the likes of High Street, Helvellyn and Skiddaw led by a qualified guide, and traverse some of the highest legally rideable trails in the country.

CycleActive's Chris Ford said: “If you’re staying in the UK this summer, avoiding volcanic ash and flight chaos, why not check out the biggest mountains we’ve got in our own country for a change?

"This is a chance to get away from the forests and managed trails and experience the highest, wildest and most exhilarating natural trails in England. Expect three full days out with some of the most stunning views you’ll ever get from your saddle."

The Three Summits trip will run on:

  • 24-27 June
  • 22-25 July
  • 27-30 August (Bank Holiday)
  • 23-26 September
