With the royal wedding just around the corner, the establishment have been kind enough to give UK residents an extra bank holiday to allow us to crowd round our televisions and celebrate William and Kate get hitched.

But a BikeRadar poll suggests viewing figures won’t include many cyclists, with 94 percent of readers planning to make the most of this unexpected gift to head out for an extra day's riding.

The last time we were spared work for a royal wedding – the 1981 union between Charles and Diana – some 28.4 million people tuned in. And a similar figure this time round can only mean one thing: quiet roads!

So what do you think? Will you be staying in or hitting the roads and trails? Have your say in our poll.
