Elite downhiller Bernard Kerr will ride for Pivot Cycles UK in 2011. The 20-year-old from Surrey, who was previously sponsored by Norco, will race the whole UCI World Cup as well as the Halo British Downhill Series.

The former Junior European and British national champion will compete aboard Pivot's new Phoenix DH bike kitted out with parts from DMR, including their new Vault pedals. He's been tipped for big things for several years now, and signed with top management company 23 Degrees in 2009.

"I’m so stoked to be on Pivot Cycles UK as the bike is just blowing me away every time I ride," said Kerr. "I genuinely couldn’t be more pumped and ready for the season to start so I’ll see you at the races!"

Tom Varkala, Pivot brand manager at UK distributors Upgrade, said: "Having recently added Pivot Cycles to our portfolio of brands we felt we needed to get a high-profile rider on board to help promote and launch the brand in the UK.

"We're super-stoked to have Bernard on the bike for 2011. He's a very talented rider and is focused on making a big impact on the UK and world circuit this year, and we hope the partnership will work out very well for all involved.’’
