Venue changed for third Mountain Bike Marathon

Four distances on offer on Yorkshire’s best natural trails

The third round of the Chain Reaction Cycles MTB Marathon Series 2010, powered by the Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport takes place on July 3-4 at a new location near Grassington, Yorkshire.

Unforeseen circumstances have forced the organisers to move the original event village and camping area three-to-four miles away from Grassington, near the village of Kilnsey (postcode district BD23). As a result of the move, shower and power washer facilities are now unavailable. Any riders unhappy with the new venue can transfer their entry to one of the two remaining rounds of the 2010 series, or to one of the 2011 rounds (dates and locations to be announced later in the year). Email info@mtb-marathon.co.uk for more information.

The amazing riding on the classic Yorkshire Dales has been unaffected by the venue change, so there is still a Mini (25km), Half (53km), Middle (70km) and Full (88km) marathon on offer.

The Full marathon route includes a steady climb across Kilnsey Moor, a classic singletrack drop into Arncliffe, a testing climb over Haw Fell and a steep descent into Langstrothdale. Then follows a rolling run above Malham and a nip back onto

to return to the finish in Grassington. The route takes in plenty of the unique limestone crags and open fells that Yorkshire is famed for.
