Boardman are developing a brand new all-purpose road bike, dubbed the Superlight for now, that will be released in 2014. More details on specs and pricing will be available later this year.

Details on the sportive-oriented bike are sparse but you can watch the video below to see the frames being put through their paces on the fearsome Kitzbüheler Horn, in Austria.

Chris Boardman said of the bikes, "The fine-tuned result is designed to cater for the rider who spends a lot of time in the saddle – either training, racing or purely for the love of cycling."

The 'B56' on the prototype top tube refers to the Boardman R&D team who have been developing the frame. It references the time and expertise that helped Chris Boardman go beyond 56km/h when he set the hour record in 1996.
