Video: Danny MacAskill on life as a pro trials rider

Together with Martyn Ashton, Danny MacAskill was one of the star attractions at this year's Red Bull Street Light Sessions, trials bike shows in Manchester and Bristol aimed as an introduction to the sport for novices.

Even a maestro like MacAskill started out somewhere and in the video below, the Scot talks about the approach a newcomer should take when getting into the sport, and how hard it is to become a professional and stay at the top of the sport. Injuries, in particular, have plagued MacAskill over the last couple of years, and he reckons that three broken collar bones, an arm op, and back and knee problems have kept him on the sidelines for 16 months in total.
