On the scale of madcap ideas, Red Bull’s Mini Drome goes all the way up to 11. If you’ve not come across it before, it involves a velodrome shrunk down to its smallest possible size while still maintaining worthy race dimensions.
At just 25m long and 1.8m wide, the action is as frenetic as you might expect. The series returned to York Hall, London last week and again saw over 100 competitors slug it out in individual timed races, with the fastest qualifying for the pursuit finals.
