Crowd of hundreds spectate, compete and drink

The first round of Rollapaluza's National Series drew a crowd of hundreds to spectate, compete and drink at Mud Dock Cycleworks in Bristol.

Some 111 riders took part in the roller racing, including 42 youths who braved a morning car park session in heavy rain. Competitors ranged from experienced track, BMX and 4X racers to complete novices.

In the men's competition, the top riders from the previous Bristol Rollapaluza – Marcus Mumford, Dan Bowen and Mud Dock employee Duncan Ferris – were joined by BMX pro Rob Reed. In the end it was Bowen who took the win over 1km.

Meggie Bichard looked dominant from the start in the women's race and saved her fastest ride for the final against Kat Broomhall. For full results and photos, click here.
