WD-40 Company this week launched WD-40 BIKE, a stand-alone business with cycling-specific products. Scheduled to officially debut at Interbike in September, WD-40 BIKE's produce line-up will include wet and dry chain lubricants, a degreaser, a foaming bike wash and a frame protectant.
The product range was developed over the past year by WD-40 scientists who worked with professional bike mechanics and bike shops.
“The WD-40 brand is definitely no stranger to bicycling,” said Irwin, managing partner of WD-40 BIKE Company. “The original WD-40 Multi-Use Product has been a mainstay in the toolboxes of bike mechanics for decades. The new WD-40 BIKE line blends our considerable experience with the demands of today’s bike technology to present a comprehensive high-performance maintenance package.”
Expect to see WD-40 BIKE in bike shops beginning in November. Orders will be accepted at that time and begin shipping to US bicycle retailers in November 2012.
The website, www.wd40bike.com, will be live in mid-September.
