Wilier Gran Turismo – First look

Aimed at the long distance rider: see it at BikeRadar Live

Wilier have introduced a new bike to their range, called the Gran Turismo. Aimed at sportive and gran fondo riders, it has been designed to combine the efficiency and stiffness of a road race machine with the comfort and handling required for long distance rides.

The only production bike in the UK will be on display at BikeRadar Live, which takes place on 10-11 July at Brands Hatch.

A high level of stiffness has been achieved through the carbon layup and Wilier’s “Razor Edge” design – on the fork, for example, which is semi-aero but has a pronounced ridge specifically positioned to add stiffness.

The Gran Turismo has a standard seatpost and conventional threaded bottom bracket. Cable routing is internal throughout but has been designed so it is easy to thread replacement cables through.

Two build options will be available in the UK with Campagnolo Athena or Chorus groupsets and FSA finishing kit. There'll be a choice of colours red/white, red/blue or carbon finish and the bike should hit shops from September. Prices TBC.

We'll have a full review of the Gran Turismo on BikeRadar soon. For more information, contact ATB Sales on 01424753566, or visit the Wilier Bikes website.
