YT has just sent through details of its 2018 range, including the updated Jeffsy. To be clear, the frame remains exactly the same going forward, and the only changes relate to the build of the bikes, which unsurprisingly, still look like excellent value for money.

Regarding this, the biggest news is the announcement that YT is stepping away from SRAM’s 1x groupsets — which are increasingly seen on the majority of direct-sale brand bikes to the point of near ubiquity — to a unique mix of Shimano and E*thirteen components. This move is reflected throughout the entire range.

The new EThirteen Shimano mixed drivetrain is being dubbed Eleven plus by YT - YT

YT has dubbed this DIY-groupset of sorts 'Eleven ' and claims that it is “distinctly more durable and much easier to adjust” than a 12-speed drivetrain.

The E*thirteen TRS cassette that the Eleven ‘groupset’ is built around actually has a 511% range over SRAMs 500% with its Eagle cassette.

The YT has always lived on the rowdier end of the enduro spectrum - YT

The bike has been released alongside a full relaunch of the brand’s website and updates to the Tues downhill bike. Rad-trickstyle-jumping-stunters will also delight at the news that the Dirt Love dirt jump bike has returned to the range for 2018.

We’re looking forward to spending time on the newly specced bikes and seeing just how well the unique drivetrain performs. Be sure to check back for a full review of the Jeffsy soon!
