At 18 litres the Gunnison is in the middle of the common pack sizing. It’s not as abbreviated as some with fully featured storage and design cues, and is large enough to cope with carrying a day’s worth of kit, but remains small enough to still be considered a viable XC/daypack. TNF utilises heavy-duty nylons for this durable pack’s construction, yet keeps the weight under 800g, placing it at the lightweight end of the mid-weight packs.
TNF uses Source for the 3-litre bladder and its Widepak model is pretty good, just be careful when shutting the bite valve to avoid drips. A cool feature is a water bottle-sized pocket, useful if you use the pack for more than riding. The Gunnison didn’t move around much and was very comfortable, even when heavily loaded, thanks to the broad yoke spreading the load across the shoulders. If the pack sat a fraction lower we’d love it more.
