Mont Blanc Explorer 2 towbar car rack review

The Explorer 2 is more expensive than some of the competition but its solid construction gives the impression of a rack designed for many years of hard use.

Once the rack is positioned on the towbar, a lever is lowered to secure it to the back of the car. It takes some muscle power, but then the rack can be locked to the car to reduce the chances of theft.

Fitting bikes securely is easy. The wheel-retaining straps slide back and forth to fit different size bikes, and the frame clamps hold bikes securely.

We’d prefer a softer surface to the inside of the frame clamp to eliminate any chance of scratching the frame, but that’s our only complaint.
