Pendle’s first roof-mounted system is pure simplicity.
A single length bar attaches to square or oval roof bars via two metal fixings. The front has pretty cumbersome 8mm bolts, so you’ll need to fish out the spanners.
The bike is attached through the fork dropouts, with the rear wheel sitting on a metal trough, held on by a nylon strap.
Added stability comes from a second strap that fastens around the down tube, and the rack is both 20mm through-axle and quick-release compatible.
The beauty of this rack is the way bike can be fixed or released in a matter of seconds. The only downside that tools are required to mount and remove it, which does take time. That’s only a problem if you need to frequently remove and fit it.
