Camelbak Podium Ice water bottle

Our review

Comforting on cold days but not a thermos flask

The insulated Podium Ice 620ml bottle shares the same unique self-sealing and lockable drinking valve as CamelBak’s standard Podium. The insulation accounts for a 90ml reduction in internal volume, but doesn’t affect the ‘squeeze-ability’ of the bottle.

As well as keeping drinks cool, it can also hold warm (but not boiling) liquids. For short rides this was a real treat, but after about an hour (dependent on the air temperature and drinking frequency, which pulls in cold air) our drink was lukewarm. When you’re using the bottle off-road, the Mud Cap (£4.99) limits your mud intake, but for road rides it’s just extra faff.
