The Live packs more than a video camera into its sturdy, palm-sized plastic package. It’ll pretty much record every aspect of your ride, with a built-in GPS, three-axis accelerometers, barometric altimeter and an ANT+ receiver that can pick up signals from a heart rate monitor.
GoBandit’s own software lets you overlay data on your footage. Key settings can be adjusted on the camera, although the two-button menu isn’t the easiest to use. Once set up, starting and stopping is by way of a chunky slide switch with audible beeps keeping you informed. Plus, if you’ve got an iPhone you can install GoBandit’s app and use your phone as a viewfinder screen.
The GoBandit comes with a choice of mounts, but you must stump up another £20 for an XC-style vented helmet mount that puts the camera flat on top of your lid – the lens bezel can be rotated to get your image aligned correctly.
The camera offers its full 170-degree viewing angle in all modes right up to 1080p, and image quality is strong.
