CamelBak The Don hydration pack review
The Don hydration pack boasts maximum capacity and features, while retaining a low unladen weight. At just 970g with bladder, it’s feathery for a 17.5-litre capacity bag with 3-litre reservoir.
Not only is the main compartment cavernous, there are so manystraps to attach bulky equipment to the outside it can end up looking likea game of Buckaroo! A full-face helmet can be strapped very securely to the outside, or a normal helmet inside the external back flap.
There are ample length straps for pads under the bag too. Internal compartments make for easy organisation and a soft glasses pocket, and waterproof storage compartment for electrical gizmos atop the bag are welcome additions.
The padded back panel is comfortable, even when fully loaded, but offers minimal ventilation, leading to sweaty spine syndrome. Articulated shoulder straps enable comfortable movement, while the sternum and waist straps keep the bag in place.
