One watt doesn’t sound like a huge amount of brightness, but actually in a good LED that’s quite a lot of light.
The beam is nicely focused, making riding with it reasonably easy in constant mode, and there’s also a flashing mode for legal reasons. The mounting is quite good and secure – a quick-release, screw down type that will fit all handlebar sizes.
The problem the High Watt does suffer from though, as with many lights of this style, is that the LED itself is shrouded by the alloy housing, making side-on visibility pretty poor.
A shame, because otherwise it’s a nicely made light.
