Cateye’s latest LEDs are their best yet and this dazzling double header proves it. Despite its compact dimensions, this unit throws a serious amount of fairly focused light down the trail. It’s not far off matching four-LED lamps and is enough for confident riding on technical trails.
While full power only lasts two hours, the remote switch shows the time left and the low power setting is still enough to ride fast with. Its light weight and included extension lead also make it a great helmet light, as long as you tighten it firmly.
The big screw connectors, awkward remote tether and excess flex are a bit of a pain, but the neat universal bar mount is a definite bonus.
