Our review
Well-featured, thoughtfully designed and reliable unit – but it's a bit underpowered

Niteye’s B30 light is big on clever features but low on actual power. The three LEDs give a genuine 1,000-lumen output and peripheral coverage is OK, though we were straining to see far at speed.

The compact neoprene-bag battery gives epic run times and you get a four-LED life indicator on the head unit for safety. The switchgear also includes a neat remote switch for toggling back and forth (not just sequentially) between the side, central or all three LEDs for properly epic rides.

The CatEye-style band clamp is one of the few to fit 35mm bars, weather and crash proof screw-collar cable connectors are a nice touch, and the peaked head unit stops upward glare if you’re climbing out of the saddle. The more powerful B20 will be better for most riders though.
