One23’s Extreme Bright Quatro light delivers a decent amount of power for the price as long as you can mount the battery OK.
The barrel-shaped head unit attaches securely to either a bar or helmet mount and the four LEDs are arranged to give an OK reach with a super-wide ‘bar end to bar end’ peripheral that works better on slower, twistier trails than flat-out descents.
There’s also a really pronounced halo in the midfield, which can get distracting in twilight/tired eye situations, and the ‘main two power settings then flash’ menu order isn’t ideal.
The two buttons are easy to use even with gloves but the big battery will last most night missions at full power anyway. The broad, rectangular hard case can make the battery hard to home securely, so ideally try before you buy.
