Our review
Bit low on power but a massively comprehensive kit for epic racers

This comprehensive tiny light set-up is ideal for solo racers or less technical all-night epics.

Ay-Up offer the ultimate lighting buffet, letting you choose from a dozen anodised colours and narrow or intermediate beams for the two tiny twin LED lamps’ units. They’re mounted on ziptie secured helmet and bar mounts, and give a perfectly workable amount of light for all but the fastest or trickiest trails.

With one large and two smaller battery packs, you’ve got enough power for half a day, or you can just run one for a lightweight race set-up. Spare mounts, extension leads, smart battery charger and even an in-car charger are included. They’re not as powerful as similarly priced options though.

With one large and two smaller battery packs, you’ve enough power for half a day - or you can just run one for a lightweight race setup.

The main battery pack burns for six hours or so on full beam, then fades slowly over about nine hours. The two smaller battery packs burn for about three hours each on full beam plus the same slow fade, so you should never get stranded without illumination.

Spare mounts, extension leads, smart battery charger and even an in-car charger are included. If you genuinely need loads of burn time, these are the lights for you.

They’re not as powerful as similarly priced options though, and the zip-tie bar and helmet fittings will irritate some riders.

The ‘Roadie’ pack, which is £100 cheaper, may be a better option for some, with its single six-hour battery and dual beam light unit.
