If we were describing our ideal shackle lock, it would be something like this: tough construction, protected lock mechanism, plenty of keys and a clever bracket. The New York has all this and a £1,200 anti-theft scheme.
Hammer attacks are nulled by the dual layer of steel protecting the cross bar, and the shackle is so solid we had two blokes hanging off a leverage bar and it still didn’t move.
We managed to cut through the shackle in the end, but that took two cuts, as the New York has a double locking mechanism. This lock has always been top of the tree, and that’s still the case.
