SKS X Blade review

A good-looking guard made from a dual-density compound that's softer at either end for 'give' where you need it and rigid in the middle for where you don't.

Great coverage compromised by a slightly contrived setup though

A good-looking guard made from a dual-density compound that's softer at either end for 'give' where you need it and rigid in the middle for where you don't.

The overall shape has obviously been given a bit though too, as the back flares slightly offering extra protection, and the front section articulates, allowing you to set it right for your bike. An adjustable strap means that you don't need shims and gives a quick release solution. But it is a real faff to set up and we found it very hard to get it tight enough to stay the distance, and a slight side-to-side motion kicked in after all too short a time, so the great rear wheel coverage was compromised by having to re-tighten everything.
