Not a full mudguard substitute, but one of the best of its type

If you want a temporary mudguard on a road bike without the clearance or mounts for full ’guards, this seatpost-fitting one is very handy. Looking like a mountain bike mudguard, it’s narrower (45mm) and longer.

Its clamp fits any basically round seatpost and goes on and off with ease. It tightens up with a screw thread and doesn’t rotate on your seatpost like strap-mounted ’guards can.

It won’t keep you completely clean but is effective at stopping wheel-spray soaking your backside and back (Crud Roadracers or SKS Race Blades are better solutions long-term). It weighs 150g.
