If your bike doesn't have eyelets then these will keep your bum dry

If you want to keep riding your race bike come rain or shine Raceblades are the best choice in mudguards. They do the job well, they’re just as easy to remove as fit and, unlike P-clips, the soft mounts won’t mark your frame.

They provide ample protection from the elements with only the minimum of overspray for the shorter shape – nothing to make things uncomfortable or get you really filthy.

Raceblades have been around for a couple of years and are the ideal solution if you only have one bike which you use through the winter.

These will fit pretty much any bike that doesn’t have the appropriate mudguard eyelet braze-ons – as with so many of the latest carbon frames.

SKS makes claims about their light weight (235g a pair) and aerodynamic qualities, but if you’re more concerned with saving weight than keeping your bum dry then you really need to rethink your priorities.

Fitting is simple, no tools required, although a pair of scissors are handy for cutting excess rubber from the mounts.

The stainless stays allow the guard section to slide fore and aft to get the position just right.

The rubber mounts have holes for cable ties (included) to make the fit more permanent, and you can see why: without them the guards can be easily knocked, leading to tyre rub.
