Bavarian brewery Erdinger have taken the unusual step of touting their alcohol-free variety as an isotonic post-training and post-racing sports drink, and are sponsoring nine British triathlon events this season to celebrate the beer’s launch in the UK.

Each 500ml bottle is actually full of good stuff – polyphenols, vitamins and minerals – as well as being free of fat, cholesterol, chemicals and preservatives. A cold bottle goes down really well after a hot training session and it tastes just like regular Erdinger, only a fair bit sweeter.
