Lake CX225 review

The CX225 is a quality shoe that tops Lake's mid range yet carries the appearance and quality of more pro level designs. The first thing you notice about the shoe is its rounded, wide shape.

A well priced, well made and comfy all-day shoe

The CX225 is a quality shoe that tops Lake's mid range yet carries the appearance and quality of more pro level designs. The first thing you notice about the shoe is its rounded, wide shape. It's a very neutral design rather than the sculpted pro cut, but this makes the 225s versatile and all but the thinnest of feet will find them comfortable.

The extra width is complemented with a comfortable mix of padding and support and the shoe offers great all-day comfort. Lakes are typically well built and we'd happily wear this pair year round, even though they are white. The thick sole is stiff but has more forgiveness to it than the carbon variations. The white, natural leather uppers look stylish and silver mesh panels complement the style and improve air flow. The tongue, heel and ankle are well padded and there are holes if you wish to fit laces.
