Specialized Torch review

Specialized Torch review

The 06 Torches look quite dainty with a hint of pink, but enough silver and black to accommodate most tastes. The fit is slipper-like too, wrapping the foot very securely with two Velcro straps and a ratchet top closure.

Our review
well engineered shoe with a female specific, slipper-like fit

The 06 Torches look quite dainty with a hint of pink, but enough silver and black to accommodate most tastes.

The fit is slipper-like too, wrapping the foot very securely with two Velcro straps and a ratchet top closure. This system works great for most sized feet without putting any pressure on the instep.

The ratchets are a bit of a nuisance though, and can get jammed up if you try to release the buckle from the wrong angle. Generous black mesh gives great ventilation and the minimal padding dries very quickly. The synthetic leather uppers are actually water resistant too and very supple.

Designed specifically for a women's foot, the Torches are extremely comfortable to ride in and the Body Geometry system seems to be beneficial to many riders. BG helps alignment during the pedal stroke to reduce knee and hip strain.

Rubberized heel and toe pads don't keep the cleat from making contact with the ground, but they do give some grip when walking.
