This top-of-the-range, road bike cockpit from Zipp combines the super-light Contour SL handlebar and full carbon SL145 stem.
The stem is hugely stiff in its resistance to twisting, and matches superbly with the forgiving nature of the handlebar; one of our testers described the feeling as being as comfortable as a couch, but a couch that’s been bolted to the floor.
On the road it balances a great connection with the steering with a superb ability to kill any buzz from poor road surfaces. The only downside is that it’s a premium priced road cockpit, but if your budget can stretch there is little to match Zipp’s all-carbon bar/stem pair.
