Our review
Expensive for a back protector, but it's so comfy it’s worth it

This Bluegrass Grizzly Lite d3o vest is about as minimal as it gets in the way of spine protectors, with a d3o spine protector board inside the thin, well-vented vest jacket.

Thanks to the minimalist approach, it’s one of the best-fitting back protectors we’ve ever had the pleasure of riding in – ideal for races where a back protector is compulsory.

The front of the vest is a thin, well vented yet smooth-to-the-touch mesh, so is pretty comfy and stays as cool as an extra layer ever would. Over the d3o protection is a layer of thicker and much more durable reinforced mesh, which is still smooth on the inside.

The vest doesn’t bunch up anywhere either and stays comfy for a whole day of downhill action.

Almost £120 for a back protector might seem steep, but for this level of comfort, we think it’s worth it.
