Brand X Freeride Pad review

Brand X Freeride Pad review

We've never been massive fans of cricket style pads, but these offer a better fit and protection than most. There's a hard plastic knee piece for patella protection, as well as multi piece panelling.

Our review
Well priced for soft scuff protection

We've never been massive fans of cricket style pads, but these offer a better fit and protection than most. There's a hard plastic knee piece for patella protection, as well as multi-piece panelling.

A floating neoprene strap sits over the kneecap (not round the back) and helps keep everything in place.

In terms of impact protection, they're not as good as hard plastic pads, and they don't slide well either. There's plenty of bruise-reducing coverage, though, and the channelled padding means they're not as sweaty as many others.
