Knox specialise in making motorbike body armour so it’s no surprise these pads exceed all the relevant safety standards despite their low price. The long hardshell cups are pre-shaped so they give extra coverage over the top of your shins without getting in the way of pedalling.
Despite our initial doubts, the single retaining strap didn’t cause any issues and while the ‘one size fits all’ design looks baggy on leaner legs it stays put fine when crashing. The cotton mix fabric is comfy, but it takes ages to dry.
