Our review
Comfy knee protection that’s ideal for trail riders, but try before you buy to ensure you get the sizing right

Pros:

Good quality construction; comfy pads to wear on long days pedalling in the hills

Cons:

Sleeve isn’t the tightest out there, so getting sizing right is important

These lightweight, well-priced Sweet Protection Knee Guards offer peace of mind for trail riders without impacting on pedalling comfort.

Inside the elastic, neoprene-like sleeve sits a thin SAS-TEC knee cup that covers the front of the knee and reaches down to the upper shin.

The sleeve itself extends onto your thigh and has a silicone gripper around the upper hem to avoid it slipping down.

At the bottom, the lower hem reaches down to the upper part of your calf, but I found pulling it towards the knee and off the calf was comfier.

I never had the pads slip down or any comfort issues or chafing, even during really long, hot days in the saddle.

There’s plenty of perforation in the sleeves, but the neoprene does get pretty sweaty. That means they’ve seen their fair share of washing machine time, but they’re still holding their shape and remain in great condition.

In terms of fit, while the upper and lower openings are quite tight, the sleeve isn’t the snuggest I’ve tried and doesn’t feel quite as secure as other pads I’ve used.

If you can, try before you buy to get the sizing just right.
