Okay if neck-brace-compatible armour is a must, but it may be best to wait for a more developed model

This Kali armour is one of only a handful of suits made with a neck brace in mind. The fit with the Leatt DBX was near perfect, however the fit with the Alpinestars Bionic was tight and restricted movement a fair bit.

The suit definitely feels best with the shoulder pads removed, because they don’t sit in a sensible place (hanging below the shoulder) and the wrap-around strap felt uncomfortable because the thin straps dig in, even when set at its loosest.

The main suit fits well though, but it’s heavy and doesn’t move with your body much because of the thick and unflexible nitrex foam which is used in both the back protection and chest plates – again restricting movement.

The chest protection is removable so youcan just don the back plate, but that doesn’t mean that the flexibility issues go away. coming in at a penny under £150, it’s not cheap either.
