Our review
A well specced glove, more suited to warmer rides

We were disappointed to discover the colour scheme on our test Step Ups has been discontinued for 2010. Other than that though, this is a well specced glove, with padded neoprene knuckles to save branch bashes, well-placed heel padding and double layers of suede with twin stitching runs at all the relevant points.

There was no form of fastening at the cuff, the glove instead relying on the limited elasticity of the mesh back fabric and thin neoprene piping to finish it off. This left it a bit airy round the wrist and, while that was good for ventilation, it felt less snug.

On the bike the heel padding proved well placed and comfortable while the thin back mesh allowed plenty of air flow – good in warmer climes, but a bit chilly for spring/autumn use. We also found the terry towelling patch on the thumb a bit small for a good wipe.
