Altura Night Vision Jacket review

It may not look like it from the picture, but this is one incredibly bright jacket. The reflective accents of the Night Vision will have you lit up like a Christmas tree when you're hit by car headlights.

Good recreational level all-weather jacket that'll get you noticed.

It may not look like it from the picture, but this is one incredibly bright jacket. The reflective accents of the Night Vision will have you lit up like a Christmas tree when you're illuminated by a car's headlights. It really is that noticeable, and if you want to heighten the effect during daylight hours, check out the yellow version.

The Altec fabric isn't as breathable as the Altec Reactive material used on the Crosslite jacket, but it's good enough for the commutes and easy paced trail rides. The mesh liner certainly helps reduce that clammy feeling - should things sweat up - and the ubiquitous pit zips are present as a cooling backup. Reflective, water repellent zips line the front and chest pocket, and even though we were blasted away by its glare, the jacket looks relatively street-friendly in daylight.

Other features include a back vent, drawcord droptail, fleece-lined drawcord neck and a rear pocket that the jacket can fold into.
