Cannondale Morphis jacket review
The Morphis uses magnets to secure its removable sleeves – with both plus and minus points. The good part is that you can pull off the arms and back cape much more easily than you can with a zipped top, which is handy when your mates are waiting for you.
With a bit of help, they also pop back on pretty easily too. The downside is that you can’t open anything up partially for venting, since it just instantly shuts again. There’s also draughtiness due to gaps between the magnet, and the cape design leaves a cold patch between your shoulders once you’ve whipped the arms off.
The rest of the jacket performance is okay but not outstanding and it sweats out fast if you’re working hard with the sleeves on. Generous sizing gives a baggy look and feel – except for the collar, which is tight, so check the fit before you buy.
The casual styling isn’t marred by the subtle reflective detailing though, and the dual-garment versatility does increase its overall value to acceptable levels.
