Great value and smart looking, but it can get a bit sweaty

It’s amazing just how much you get for your cash with this waterproof jacket from DHB. Not only does it offer good value for money, but it looks really smart, too, even if a tad bulky.

The Hawkley Waterproof is neatly tailored from nylon 2.5 layer ripstop material, with a Teflon coating that’s taped at the joins to stop any rogue water penetration. There are also waterproof zips on the front and pockets sealing everything neatly.

This jacket does get a little bit sweaty when you’re riding hard, although armpit zips and rear vents help to keep you cool when the going gets tough.

The fleece-lined high collar with a draw cord takes care of neck duties, and wrist closures keep any draughts or water out very efficiently.

Two side pockets and one on the back ensure there’s plenty of room to stash any necessaries.

All of this does make the Hawkley a little bulky, though, but it will slip easily into a small pack.
